Hello All:
I'm John from the US. I have been researching height adjustable piers, and actually talked to linak several times, trying to get info. I ran across your post, and thought I would give the info that i have on this.
It turns out that the guy in Germany who wrote the article on the Pier-Tech Pier, did not have the Pier-Tech Pier to begin with. What he bought from someone was an early iteration of a linak product, (that is why what he found was linak parts inside). that is not anywhere close to what the Pier-Tech product is today. I found this out from Linak US themselves. Although Pier-Tech started with the linak product, they found out after further testing that the polar alignment and stability did not work out, and they redesigned the inner and outer profiles to meet Pier-Tech's specs. Pier-Tech does buy the internal actuator from them, but the inner and outer profiles are custom made somewhere in the US, by an extrusion specialist company. Pier-Tech has a US patent on the profile designs that allow polar alignment repeatability and greater stability.
