Faired ok against my 6" Celestron as a battle between David and Goliath.

Thats the thing, there's very hard to fault with such an instrument for the price. But, as some of you guys have said already, NOT recommended for a starter scope. Still, I'm bemused that the Tullamore shop had none at all, so I can't even give MY 2 cents worth!

What MOST surprised me is the quality of the optics.
Saturn was perfectly focussed at 60x.
No false colour or blurring until I brought it far out to the edge of the field.

It looks a lot like the celestron seen in this link:

(With the peculiar "front facing" focus.)
The actual field is too narrow for a finder in my opinion.
A nice "grab and go" scope though.
