Better that old people should die of talk than to have young people die in war.

Shhhhh, don't confuse the weather gods. It's a 400mm telelens. It's also way cheaper than a Nikon 400mm and I couldn't even find a 400mm telephoto in the compatible market. OK, the Nikon lens is an f/2.8 but I'm never in that much of a hurry
The only fixed-length second-hand 400m Nikon telephoto lens I was able to locate that's compatible with my camera would cost €6,000, compared to €386 for the little APO that will do double duty. There are cheaper Nikon zooms around that go out to 400mm but I need a fixed lens at this length.
I already use a C5 spotting scope as an extreme telelens of approx 800mm or 1300mm f/l (with/without field flattener).

We'll have to start a mini-fractor club.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
I just checked with Adorama and the scope has been shipped via UPS so I am hopeful that it will be with me by the weekend. It's like Christmas has come again.
Now, I'm off down to mass to pray for starry nights

I've just checked the scope's progress with UPS and the weather in the north-eastern US is awful with flights cancelled  It's still sitting in Philadelphia and I don't know when it'll get moving.
I hate this waiting
