I am constructing an experimental dual focuser method of using them together. Hopefully, they will each rotate 360 degrees in opposing directions, so for high up objects, you will stand sort of underneath the tubes looking up through the focusers, or if low down, you will be looking down into them.
The mirrors themselves are both Orion Optics mirrors, so they should be each almost identical. But still, each focuser can be focused individually (like most binoculars), and then locked into position, and further both focused together as one.

If the focal lengths are off by more than a few mm, it would be hard to get the magnification equal in both sides, I guess that our eyes and brain would have a wide enough tolerance though.
Cheers

I remember looking into this before, epecially with JMI in the US offer binoscopes.
Assuming for simple sakes, that there are no secondary mirrors;
2 x 8" scopes have less light gathering than a 12". Therefore, I'd be inclined to go with a 12" and a pair of binoviewers. Collimating the images to merge might also be a little tricky. Interesting project all the same though.
If on the other hand, you went with 2 x 16" scopes, it would equate to a 22.5"! Now you're talkin'!

If I ever get it finished. Basically, it is 2 X 8" F8 newtonian tubes, with some slight modifications, to allow stereoscopic views. If I get it finished, it will look a little cumbersome, but it will look the part!

Suffice to say, there's a reason why I don't have these scopes either!
