I have that same laser from the eBay link (ordered from the company that make them in the US - Lasergreen.com I think). Lasted for about 2 weeks before the diode gave out under minimal use and they refused to replace it, saying it must have been dropped! It wasn't. It never really worked in the cold. You had to have it in your pocket to heat up before the beam was visible.
Got a 10mw one from the UK which seems to work far better in the cold than the old one.
BTW, the US Homeland Security Dept. have been talking about banning their use outdoors after reports of someone in Arizona pointing one at passing aircraft. I doubt that will trickle in over here though.

The kind of versions of some of those can be seen working in nightclubs. Their range exceeds most cloudtops, and are used in small rooms in comparison! For outdoor events, the effect is awesome.
