This green lasers are VERY dangerous. For example army can not use them becouse it is prohibited by Geneva Convention .
To see laser bean in the night is 5 mW more then enought. I realy do not understand why someone want to use something more powerfull. If you like lasers, you can observe in the disco show.
I wonder that soon will come law against this lasers.

Then I will move to US. It was good when those lasers were more expensive. Now it is getting cheaper and every j* can have them. It will be very funny when school children will try to smash your eyes.
I hope you have good practise not to observe sun without filter in Ireland. This is the same, but people still do not know it.

Calm down Janek....
You wouldn't want the government here turning to astronomers to solve our immigration difficulties.
Most people here are not jerks and know about solar filters and the dangers of solar observing.

Not sure where you heard that Janek. I agree that they are very dangerous, but the US army has officially equipped many of their troops (2000 of them) in Iraq with high power green laser pointers (class 3b up to 20mw) to disorient foes, despite anything in the Geneva Convention.
It is strange for astronomy though. Surely 5mw is enough...
