Are the 5mw very dangerious for eyes. That is would a accidental flash in the eye cause permanent damage?
5MW is what the pointers people use for PowerPoint Presentations are rated at (at least my one is, I just checked). They do not do lasting damage if you flash one in your eye for a sec. I wouldn't go staring into it and I wouldn't repeatedly hit myself with it but I can tell you from first hand experience that having been hit in the eye by 5MW lasers at least three times in my life they don't do permanent damage. Your blink reflex is enough to save you I guess. Trust me, when you get one in the eye you'll close your eyes mighty fast!
