Telescope eyepieces

Greetings!
Need some advice on eyepieces for a new telescope.
Ordered an 8" dob recently that comes with a 25mm eyepiece but would like to purchase others, not sure what to go for. Prices seem to vary greatly, is more expensive necessarily better? Also the telescope can take 2" and 1.25" eyepieces, which is better?
It will be used for planets, deep sky objects and the moon so i reckon id need a few different eyepiece sizes. Would appreciate some advice with this!

Baader Hyperions are a pretty good bet. Around €100 each but with a good wide field of view and not too heavy. They are 1.25/2 inch eyepieces
One good eyepiece is better than three cheap ones.

Meade series 4000 plossels are a good starting point, they have focal length such as, 26, 20, 15, 12.4, 9.7 and 6mm. the shorter focal length eyepieces are difficult to use due to the very small size of the lenses. They are cheap and are easily found second hand.
2 inch eyepieces are better for lower powers and wider fields of view, but are genrally more expensive.
Whats the focal length of the scope and whats your budget for eyepieces ?

The focal length is 1200mm and as for budget i would probably be talking 200-250max.
Also do i need to get filters for observing the moon and nebula? What exactly are they needed for, brightness and glare?

Hi,
I would also recommend Baader Hyperion. It is good value for money. Buy only 2 for start. Dont forget to buy other equipment as well (filter, red dot finder)
