Aparently there are very active volcanoes on that planet and they hope to catch some in action over the life of the mission!.
thanks for the heads up Dave.

Thanks for the heads up. Just finished watching it. Good to see it entered orbit successfully.
As for the programme's presenter, well that's another story. They should perhaps consider reruiting that person from Classic FM. Viewing figures should increase!

Yeh - he's the guy that did the Huygens descent. Definately replace him with the Classic FM astronomer. Though I though the Classic FM DJ was a little too amateur. Some personal coaching would sort that out though.
I was disappointed because the Morning Herald touted that the prog was going to show the first images of Venus from orbit. So much for accurate journalism. Still, it was worth watching all the same.
Right, where's that Classsic FM website....

It was a good (enough) watch alright, even if Adam Hart-Davis's acting needed a tune up! Still, the parts where he walked on the surface of Venus, and how is camera even failed, were good enough for me to 're-enact' what it is like over there.

I thought it was an interesting program, a pity abut no Venus images, maybe its abit too early yet.
