A top 40 of easiest Planetary Nebulae was created by Coldfieldboundary
;) Hi,

Years ago I once went for the easiest doubles to see, also wanted to give them the stamp 'observed', and finally reached a list of 200 doubles.

After that I did it for 125 open clusters. For both lists I also made a webpage.

Yesterday I finished a webpage for 40 easiest planetaries, which I also observed first in the previous months.

So the result for the planetaries is in the following page:

All I can say is.....WOW that is a lot of work - looks really good - a great resource there. I am doing web design course at the moment and could not conceive of attempting anything as good as that

Nice work!

Got something similar that would work for 10 X 50's? :)

well, I used straight and plain HTML, no program which makes the webpages for you.

@Seanie: difficult to catch planetaries with binoculars, most of them are only a tiny disk, with too low magnification just like a normal star. Only M76 and M27, not displaying a round disk and appear giant, must be enough for the binos.

Excellent resource.

Do you have the link for the other lists -200 doubles and 200 open clusters?

It was 2006 when I reached a list of 200 easy doubles:

users.compaqnet.be/doublestars/

Then in 2008 I could finish 125 pieces for the open clusters:

thanks for the looks..
