It has taken a while to put this one together - it is a very faint object. All the info is on my web site - as usual.

Super image, Brendan!
What a delightful supernova remnant Abell 85 truly is.
Lots of red hues in the surrounding area too with a bit of blue on the left side of this remnant.

Thank you for producing it for us.
It's great that you and Richard continue to give us these great images.
Please keep them coming!

Best regards from Aubrey.

Thanks Aubrey - nice of you to comment. (Unfortunately I cannot reciprocate with comments on your very detailed viewing reports).

I do hope not only myself & Richard will continue posting images - but others too.

Slán,
Brendan

Hi Brendan.

Fabulous image of Abell 85. I was intrigued to read on your website that it is a similar size to the full Moon but having a low visual magnitude it's difficult to observe. So, very many thanks for spending so much time to produce this beautiful image for us. From now on when I look at Cassiopeia I'll picture this supernova remnant sitting above the great 'W' in the sky.

All the best,

Darren.

Thanks for looking in Darren and taking the time to comment.

" I'll picture this supernova remnant sitting above the great 'W' in the sky. "......the little Sky Maps are great for letting us know where the objects are (especially for the likes of this that we cannot) see. I am delighted to be able to get them from Astrometry.net for inclusion on the web site......they really help make the image pages that little more interesting.

Really is a great image Brendan. So feint I've never felt the itch to go after it, but you've given it the attention it deserves.
