Hi everyone,
I finally got to hook up my new Canon to the LX200,I don't have a 2" reducer yet so the shots were taken at f10.I've never used a DSLR before so I did'nt know what to expect however I have to say I was very pleased with the result as because of intermittent cloud it was only a short session.
Clear skies
Kevin.

Hi Kevin - you have done quite well there as the trapezium in Orion is always a hard capture. Looks like a very successful first light test - good luck and clear skies.......looking forward to seeing much more from you over the coming weeks and months.

Nice one Kevin, thats a really good start. Once your tracking is good, there are lots of winter targets for those frosty clear nights ahead, M78 region in Orion is also a good area to test your camera on

Good evening, Kevin.
Your image of M42 and M43 is one of th very best I have ever seen!
That is because you have included Theta 1 and Theta 2 Orionis with such sharp focus.
As Keith has suggested, I would love to see a version of M78 whenever you can manage. But there is no rush on that one.
It's thumbs up all the way from Aubrey for your rendition of the Orion Nebula!

Thanks everyone,
I will try M78 whenever there are clear skies again, according to the Met Eireann website that will be Mon night early hours Tues morning.
I would also like to get a shot of the Flame nebula and the Horsehead if possible while I'm in that part of the sky.
M33 and M74 are two more I would like to have a go at,as they are both close to each other and in a reasonably good position in the sky.
M31 is a little bit too straight overhead I find at the moment and also I'm working without a reducer so I might leave it until the new year when I hope to get the .62x Optec 2" reducer that works with the Meade ACF.
Until Mon/Tue, then hopefully more images,
     Clear skies       Kevin.

Great start, you've done very well to tame that core.
