Gents, thank you all for getting back to me on this one, I was thinking of constructing one for my summer holidays actually, it would be nice to have the tracker in a foreign land without trying to pack my motor driven C8 into the suitcase!
I'll check all your advice out!
Thanks Again,
Keith..

Hi Keith
 I got plans for one from Jan Cap in Cork he uses one very successfully,as I dont have an EQ mount I was going to build one and as I'm a carpenter/joiner I reckon I should manage  ,building two or more at the same time is easier than diong them individually,if your'e interested let me know.

John I think it's possible toget a clock drive but I'd say you'd have to get a slightly finer thread on the bolt as it would be continuous turning rather than occasional as by hand also I'm sure Registax would eliminate "the shakes",Will look into it.

Eugene I know what your thinking with the fine tread bolt, also it would probably need a potentiometer to reduce/increase power to the motor to fine tune motor speed.

I agree, but I think it could also be achieved by using a stepper type motor and the use of gears to achieve the correct rotation I'm sure I read about these years ago but cant remember where,I'm sure a search of the US ATM sites would throw up the solution.
