It is a bit embarassing posting my first attempt at imaging Jupiter on the same page as Dave G's image above. But we all have to start some where. I took alot of 15 second AVI's (at 10 fps, 1/33 exposure with about 25% gain) that night. I tried both 320 px wide and full resolution of 640 px. The 640 px width gives a much more enlarged image but none of them showed the detail that the smaller resolution ones did.
I also tried stacking several AVIs together but again little improvement. However I was totally amazed by the detail that Registax 3 could 'see'. Visually the Great red spot was just noticable! Seeing was not great but better than it was earlier in the month.
Anyway here is the image:-
I also got a nice image of the craters Theophilus and Cyrillius. To preserve Bart's bandwidth (and to send trafic to the clubsite ) see Kerry Astronomy Club' Gallery

Thats a fabulous image, plenty of detail, I tried abit of jupiter imaging on Friday night also, but the seeing was dire, all fuzzed out!
Good job!
