M8 image in narrow-band filters was created by arnierosner
Here is an image acquired with a Takahashi Epsilon E250. The Epsilon has a focal legnth of 850mm and an F/3.8 ratio. The Epsilon is mounted on a Paramount ME and the camera was an ST8XE from SBIG. The filters were by Custom Scientific and had a bandpass that was 3nm wide.
This image is an LRGB except that instead of the normal filters a red filter was used in place of the L. The OIII filter was used in place of the red, the Ha filter was used in the place of the green and the SII was used in place of the blue.
The exposures were all 5 x 120 seconds binned 1x1 for each filter.
Comments welcome.

Arnie - that's a good image. A testament to the equipment and the imager.
I like the combination of filters which lead to an image that we normally only get to see from the professional scopes.
The details is super - its nice and crisp and the colours are really good.
What a great image.
I'll get there one day... But then of course you'll be another couple of years ahead..
Cheers

ps - nice to see you drop by these boards. Really.

Bart, Dave,
Thank you for your generous comments.
This is just an example of what could be done from 1200 miles away from the observatory. I'm in California and the observatory is in New Mexico. Of course these may just be names to you in Ireland so the distance might not make too much sense.
Of course you guys could also do this from Ireland too if you had a mind to. Let me know and I'll arrange a connection for you.
Best regards,
Arnie
