C10, C13, M103.

The full moon (well nearly full) encouraged me to do something I normally wouldn't have done. Due to so few clear nights, I was determined to do some viewing and imaging, but realised I would have to look in parts of the heavens never before visited, so I headed north-east. My targets were C13, C10 and M103. Why oh why didn't I visit these open clusters before? At 5 arc mins M103 fitted nicely into the eyepiece and onto the CCD chip. For a small open cluster it's actually quite pretty. C10 and C13 being a bit larger were actually quite stunning, but too big for the chip, but I managed the best part of it. Now I'm going to try my hand at processing them with registax, but I think frustration will be the order of the day, I've a feeling I will fail!
Anyway, for those of you who haven't spent time with those open clusters, then get out there and look at them, they are great!
By the way, I have sorted my flare problem with the DSI. I had to put the IR filter back in.

Bill couple of tips for registax for deep sky images. Accept most of the defaults, you shouldnt need to play too much with the 'wavelets' settings for deep sky images. Havea play with the histogram and the brightness and contrast. Thats pretty much all I did with your M51 image set.

BTW wait till you see the 3.5minute guided exposure i did of M13 last night!

I know it is very difficult when you first start processing images, you have to work on your process and see what other people are doing.
