a quickly processed image of mars,
I finally get some half decent seeing.
Stacked the best 350 frames out of 1500, 12" SCT +toucam +registax.
Will try for better processing in the morning when I'm not forzen solid.

Here it is again, less contrasty but maybe more realistic, ?
For some reaon, that white line on the right hand side horizon is very prominent. both poles are visible. The white edge doesnt seem to want to leave, short of literally cutting it out in photoshop

Lovley images Dave,
KAC had an observing session last night and the second image is very close to what we saw visually on the occasional seconds of clarity. However that bright limb (or either pole) were not visible. It was bloody cold though!!

Nice shots Dave.
I'm just in from observing Mars. Great observing conditions out there tonight. Fabulous detail to be seen on the Red Planet. You can clearly see the blue cloud around the northern pole and the tiny polar cap at the south. Lots of fine detail to see in the southern hemisphere. I hope everyone here gets a chance to look at Mars over the next few weeks.
