Orion of Old

Hi all, I'm begining to feel left out what with the great shots posted over the last number of days

Since I have'nt been doing any shooting lately, I came across this shot I took of Orion in full colour with FILM!!!! yes FILM!!! :shock: 2 years ago, and never posted it yet. If only you could get this colour with a DSLR

I'll try this with the 300D sometime soon on a clear frosty night, I wonder how it will compare? Anyway, easily seen are of course M42, the flame nebula, IC 434 without the horsehead nebula, the rosette nebula, betelgeuse is really orange, and Barnards loop is easily seen along with neblosity above orion. Great film the fuji provia 400!! Going the way of the dinosaurs!

Thats a staggering shot keith. As good as any I've seen in that class of image. Cant wait to see what you produce this winter. Really is impossible to fault that one!

The second I saw it I suspected it was a film shot, its just too red.
So you've been doing this a fair amount of time, it really shows, :shock:
The detail is fantastic, what mount did you use to track the camera, did you use any light pollution filters?
