We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time. . . .

I was out last night at about seven o`clock and noticed the sky was quite clear so i went inside, grabbed the camera and the tripod and started shooting! I snapped Cassiopeia!I was using a simple sony cybershot 5.1 mega pixel camera and used a 30 second exposure! this was the results!
P.s this is the first time ive used a link so if it doesnt work the photo is in the files section under astrophotography!

Matthew, I was just having a look at it and I think you will have to consider making it smaller, at least in data - its almost 1.5 Megs!!!! Too much for these boards! I suggest you delete it from the Files section and upload a resampled one. The quality of that picture should still hold on something around 50KB.
Just a friendly 2 cents and beware!
Seanie.
PS, it looks like you got Lyra there in your picture! And its a great first attempt!

I'll do it for you from my end if you wish while you remove that from the files section?
Otherwise, if you are not familiar with Photoshop or Corel, simlpy use Microsoft Paint on your computer! Use the Stretch/Skew function under the Image tab. take it down even to 30 or 40%...

As an experiment Matthew, I've taken the liberty of doing it for you, just to see...
It definitely looks like Lyra! That bright star is Vega. And the image size is 30KB.
Nice shot Matthew!
Seanie.
