first go at imaging

Hi all

first pic below..held mini dv up to eyepiece and managed to record some few seconds. transferred to pc and converted some to avi, processed( tried to) all of 19 frames in registax. must try and see if i can get more frames and try again. I reckon this learning curve will last a long time. ( i know I should have just held a still camera to eyepiece but my camera is rubbish)

You do realise that once the astrophotography bug bites that there is no cure, well none that is cheap anyway :lol:

More frames and faster shutter speed will help with the detail and the contrast.

Nice first shot!

A moon filter would help to reduce the over exposure of the bright limb. Your standard video camera is really quite good for getting eyepiece projection shots, and if you get enough you can use grading to cull the best 10% to stack.
