Blackrock? was created by dmcdona
Folks - here's a new asteroid animation. I took the frames last September but only just got around to processing them.
96 Aegle (ee'-glee) is a very large main belt asteroid (diameter 170 Km). It has a dark-colored surface and probably a primitive carbonaceous composition. It was discovered by Jérôme Coggia on February 17, 1868 and named after one of the three Aegles in Greek mythology.

Enjoy!

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

Thats excellent Dave...love it.
Would you be able to bag 9929 Mc Connell this year as i know John is eager to see this asteroid from an amateurs view point?

Could be a goer - mag 17.3 and rising later on in the East... Send some clear skies to Celbridge and I'll get onto it...!

An hour? Wow, there was some determination in getting that brief passage amongst the stars!
