Meade DSI was created by 11" Astrophotograph
Could someone tell me what focal length the DSI is : is it like a 15mm eyepiece :
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hi,
Cameras have no focal lenght. Connected to any scope the dsi or any other camera does not magnify an image at all, therefore the focal lenght of your telescope remains the same.
Look at your telescope the focal lenght should be written on it, thats the focal lenght of your system, the dsi doesnt change that.

Comet Hunter - why do you ask?
Dave G's answer is on the money. But do you need the answer for a reason? Methinks you may be asking the wrong question
Cheers - let us know and we'll dig you out!

Folks,
I think what "12"Comet-Hunter" is asking is what is the magnification of the DSI?
Since I have not used one yet I can't give a definine answer but I do use a Celestron Neximager and I got this Quote from the Celestron Neximager homepage.
"What is the magnification of my telescope when the NexImage camera is in the eyepeice barrel?
The NexImage camera is equal to the magnification of about a 5mm eyepiece. To determine the magnification of your image when using NexImage, divide the focal length of your telescope (in mm) by 5."
So I suspect this is roughly similar to the answer that comet-hunter is looking for.

spaceboy, hi! so you use the celestron neximager! How do you find it? i was pondering over one of these for ages! Now have a dslr but would still consider it! Also on your labtop, is it 'user friendly' as in is it easy to capture an image?
Thanks
Matthew

I might buy the Meade 8" LX90 GPS which has a focal length of 2000mm.............so....the DSI might be like a 5mm eyepiece :
