NGC1499 - The California Nebula was created by DaveGrennan
Heres the first of my images from our weekend under the inky black skies of west Mayo.
I always wanted to photograph this object;
webtreatz.com/component/option,com_zoom/...geNo,3/key,21/hit,1/
25 Feb 2006, Newport Co Mayo. 12 x 3 min exposures at ISO800 Canon 300D Modified, 80ED Refractor @ f/6 Autoguided UV/IR blocker no LPR.
Very pleased with this. Really shows off the modified Canon 300D

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

Really nice sharp detail there Dave, well done!
Question: would the ETX-70 get almost as much detail had it been used instead of your 80ED, with the same set up, considering their both refractors of similar aperture?
Seanie.
