Venus passing close to the Pleiades.

Hi All,
I just about managed to get a nice pic of venus next to the Pleiades, lots of cloud around, was lucky to get this.

I stacked 10 images (registax), taken at iso1600 , 2.5 seconds each, canon eos300d + 4” Celestron refractor at F5, unguided hence the small trailing, taken at 8.20 GMT (3rd April 2004).
Would be nice to get a clear patch tonight to catch it again and see how much venus has moved.
The sky was still blue at this stage, anything longer then 3+ seconds brightened the background severly and as the mount was unguided, trailing became much worse, the full moon didnt help either.

While I was at it, I thought I'd gat a pic of the near full moon.
Taken at 8.30 GMT, April 3rd 2003, 6. Taken with a 4" F5 celestron refractor with a canon eos 300d, 6 images stacked in registax.

A bit of practice for the up and coming lunar eclipse in May, we wont see all of it, but if its clear, we'll get the second half of it.

Thanks, but I'm going to hold off for a few week before I even look at Jupiter or Saturn, planning to get a nice pic of venus when the crescent phase is more obvious.

Yea. the moon pic kinda surprised me, I wasnt going to put it up originally. One thing I did notice (afterwards) is that if you turn your monitor brightness up to full, you begin to see odd changes in the background darkness, just processing relics.....
The temptation to over process here was severe, I could have shown more detail but the lunar limb would have been unacceptable.
