Dave - nice detail across the solar sphere and in the active regions.
Couple of questions - is the colour a processed colour or is that the native colour of your imager? Why did you have to throw 494 frames - quality control in the stacking software?

I like that image Dave, it has a hint of 3D aspect to it, especially when you look at the 'mushroom' effect of the spot.

What I do is to basically wipe out any blue in levels (since the only detail is in the red channel) and then adjust the color balance to that color. The camera is b/w. Also the seeing was crap 35kph winds but the LU cam at 54fps (my 1000 frames takes only 13 secs) enables you to freeze the seeing so you can be selective of the number of good frames. in fact 300 frames or less probably would have done as the cam is virtually noiseless at these light levels.
I liked the "mushroom" effect also. You can actually see the spot ejecting material.
