Best wishes to you and yours for Christmas and I wish you all clear dark skies for 2007.

Very good image Dave!
What's amazing is the FOV of the camera! Tiny!

Yes - precisely 5.2 * 7 arcmins at a focal length of 2426mm. Jusy shows you how well the AP tracks. Anything above a focal length of 2000mm is serious stuff for head-the-balls :D

Now, I just need to take off the reducer, slap on the 2.5 PowerMate and I'll be imaging at a focal length of 9625mm with a FOV of 1.3 * 1.8 arcmins

I have to say I was surprised at the detail I got considering the ludicrous undersampling (0.73 arcsec/pixel). But with the Hyperstar on the way, I'm hoping to redress the balance using the Fastar capabilities of the C14.

As it happens, the dimmest confirmed mag I have is 16.6 for an asteroid I was watching for the MPC on Friday night. I'll see what 2007 brings. But you can all be rest assured that MPL 2006 XD2 is being watched by Celbridge - you can all sleep comfortably on Xmas eve knowing that a few billions of tons of rock aren't going to slam into your garden and ruin it all :D

Jeepers, I need to bone up on my volcabulary before I read this thread again. :(
I think I understood some of the two letter words. :?

Anyhow, I thought it was actually a nice photo.

If I had a criticisim, it would be that I'm not sure your Losmandy diffraction mags aren't a bit hyperattenuated at the margins of the apochromatic extents, toward the edge of the eye-of-the-needle FOV, even allowing for the slapping on of the uncollimated goggles and the effects of a recent or forthcoming Friday night.

 Merry Christmas
