Canon 350d Adapters was created by jmcc5
First of all Happy New Year to everyone. I'm back to bug everyone again. I finally gave in as regards the camera and purchased a 350d :D . I know that a T Ring & a T Adapter is needed. Getting the T Ring is not a problem as my local camera shop sells them. (Telescope is a Celestron 11" SGT)

What I'm not sure of is what type of T Adapter is needed. As far as I can make out you can get an adapter that allows the camera to be focused afocally and an adapter that can take an eyepiece (a tele view adapter :?: ). Basically which is the best one to get.

I've been looking at the Starlight Xpress MX Camera Lens Adaptor For Nikon F,Canon EOS, Pentax K and Olympus Bayonette Fitting on -http://www.iankingimaging.com/show_products.php?category=19&offset=10 but I'm not sure if this is what is needed in conjunction with the T Ring. Any info or suggestion would be most welcome. Sorry for being long winded.

Also, when is all this rain going to stop

Hi Joanna,

What you need is one like the top item on this page.

www.iankingimaging.com/show_products.php?category=19

This screws into your t-ring, which in turn couples too the camera. You just insert this in the eyepiece tube (without the star diagonal). This set up is used for prime focus shots of deep sky objects. Note you dont use any eyepiece in this arrangement.

If you want to use an eyepiece (perhaps for moon and planets) to give a bit more magnification. You need something like this;

www.telescopehouse.co.uk/page.aspx?thela...48E4A42240A0720D6582

Your eyepiece goes inside and the t-ring screws onto the back.

Hope this helps

Dave.

Thanks Dave

One last question. Am I right in thinking that the adapter on Telescope House is the same as the one on the Ian King site except that you also get the eyepiece projection adapter also.

Hi Joanna,
Just to add to Daves list above, have a look at
www.scopetronix.com/trings.htm

The only problem is that there were rumours that they were not fully trading.
Before I would commit to anything from them, I would send them an email asking do they have the item in stock. I have bought several parts off them over the years with excellent service, although not recently.

Yes Joanna. I hadn't spotted that. Two for the price of one. I hope the mods don't slate me but I also noticed A&S have these too. Might be worth a call. These are also two in ones. I have one of these myself!

Could be hard to get Scopetronix stuff now. They went out of business in early December with a backlog of orders.

I believe this stuff is the same. £4.99 for the nosepiece. This & TS is where I got alot of my stuff. They've always been very reasonable. Good place for rings too!
