5th Jan attempts was created by JohnMurphy
Last night 5th Jan was a trial. Dave Brannigan and myself spent an evening dodging showers, waiting for cloud to clear just to get an alignment and generally just getting very frustated with the continuing spell of naff weather. Tonight is a windy washout again. Last night I was hoping to try my first long exposures of DSOs, but that was never going to happen. At least there was a moon, and as a result I have been stringing together a Powerpoint show of phases of the moon. I'm hoping to get a shot every couple of days to complete a set over the month of January. Here's last nights.

Nice image John, you got that ray I like, the one that heads right down to Rosse crater from the mighty Tycho !!
Look forward to your collection of Moon images.

Good image, especially considering the mad weather.

Hopefully you'll get the series John, though it does take quite some effort, and yeah, the weather is very poor, not just at the moment, but all through the winter, it's unusual
Keith..

John,
Wonderful shot. Nice clear sharp focus. If you could get a full monthly sequence you could turn it into a brilliant AVI.
