Venus tonight, an almost full phase was created by dave_lillis
Hi,
I went out this evening and literally cleaned the dust off the scope, wasn't it an excellent sunset, Venus and Mercury were very visible, I had a look at Venus through the scope and it was rainbow of light and almost a full phase, probably the fullest phase I've ever seen it to be honest, so I got it through the scope with the toucam.

1400 Frames with 12"LX200 + 3x teleview barlow+toucam,
The seeing could only have been described as mad, been only 9 degrees above the horizon, registax does a great job of removing the rainbow.
Mercury was just too low to catch a good image of it, maybe tomorrow evening might prove more successful.

Very good Dave! As I live on the east coast I have to whizz up the hill to see these things in the west, hence travel light!

Nice one Dave!!!
Good to see you back at it again!
Question,
Why is the image yellowish?
Would I be right in saying its because of the sunset atmosphere?

I was actually gonna give venus some attention this week as well,
I was thinking you wouldnt get much except an overexposed star like object
but It looks like its worth having a go all the same.

When are we going to see a noticable phase?

Nice one Dave. One of the nicest I've seen of Venus.
Must have been awful hard to focus that low on the horizon!
