Nice image Paul,
As seen from the other corner of the island..
300D and Skyluk (on the Skylux mount, hence the shake from the mirror opening)
Other resolutions on the Kerry Astronomy Club Website, link below.
Note this is also a combination of a 1/15 and 1/640 second exposures.

Fantastic work Paul!
As Dave states above, as long as you detail how the final image was derived then it can't be classed as 'cheating'.
I would'nt worry too much about the purist view of
images...
its kinda like saying that an image of something captured in AVI and processed in Registax is 'cheating' ....
It's all just a manuiplitation of digital information...
Well done again!

I lost titan also in my images as I didn't let the exposure run long enough to catch it and what about about all the fainter background stars, I have to say I disagree with your argument here Peter.
100 years ago, the purists would have been saying that only a drawing was a real image and a photograph was cheating as it was taking all the skill out of it.

?? Have you not seen the moon through a scope, I see the moon with a black background through my 12" unless there is haze in the sky, a sign of good scope design if you ask me.It's a lovely pic Paul but You have to admit that a full moon with black sky beside it is a bit unrealistic.Peter.
In removing the lunar glare the program removed Titan!
Astro-imagers, like true artists, never criticise each other.
