This was M42 last night. I wish I had of taken some Ha images like Dave's then I may have retained some of the contrast.

Kieran that is a class image. Absolutely amazing considering the full moon is about! On the constructive crticism side, the blue channel seems to be exhibiting halos around the stars. Don't know what processing software you use. In images plus (which I use) the is a halo reduction algoritm which works well on this sort of thing.
Anyway thats not to detract from a really classy image. Well done!

Spot on Dave. The blue channel seemed to be a lot more responsive on the night. It may be due either to the moonlight or the slight haze that was present. Previously I imaged the Beehive with a slight haze and manged to create a brand new blue nebula in the cluster.

Phoenix,
Lovely image. Great dynamic range of detail there from the trapezium to the outer fringes of the nebulae. Again like Dave said re the blue halos.

Excellent image considering the full moon and all.
Great exposure range in the neb.
I love the colours.
