Yet another M42!! was created by DaveGrennan
Heres my contribution to the M42 Appreciation society:)

Details;

18 February 2007, Raheny Observatory Dublin. 23 x 2 mins in each of R,G and B, ATIK 16HR, Celestron Onyx ED80II. Astronomik RGB and CLS filters. Processed in Images Plus 2.75, PS CS2, and Neat Image Pro.

Great image Dave! But I think the central core is too over-exposed. It could be just down to opinion though. The outer nebulosity is stunning.

I think we'll make you the president of the afore mentioned society :)
Its a tough one to get the core well with good surroundings, a magic image all the same, I just love the wisps of nebula and strands of red, its one of those objects I really just cant get enough of.

See - I told you you could do better - and this is proff. That's an excellent image. If you can do the same to M51, it'd be really hard to beat.

OK - so the core is blown but I'd say its virtually impossible to avoid it with M42.

M42 get's you an A :D
