Dave, as always a great image. It is amazing to me how quickly the shadow of the planet on the rings reappears on the other side of the planet. Here it is just 7 days after opposition!

Very true!
Say Dave,
Have you ever created a new Largers picture in photoshop
and pasted the Saturn image into it?
Just, as an artist, I can tell you the colours will look better with more black
around them....
(Damien Peach does this also)
for a more technical explination of the interaction of surrounding colours go here...
(it's just to give you an example of what I'm saying - obviously you
dont want 100% black, just use the eye dropper to select the black,
say close to the top or bottom of the planet...(the black insid the rings for example will be darker)
and use this for the rest of the image....
any halo effect can be painted out with photoshop.

I'll never get bored looking at images of Saturn. Nice work there Dave! You've got some weird and wonderful colours in there. And for some reason, the Cassini Division looks remarkably large!
