Is there any chance that someone could drill a hole in manufacturers heads and pour in the information that the last thing you want is a bloody bright LED power on light when you are imaging. I have been taping them up but as I track across the sky one always causes a problem. I have seven of the buggers red green and blue.

I agree.
In a truly dark non-light polluted site they can light up the whole garden like a flashlight.
Keep taping up!
Peter.

A piece of black electrical tape will do the trick. 'Stab' it with a sewing needle to let the right amount of light pass so that you know it's there.

If you're imaging, surely you are looking at a pc screen, so what difference do a few lights make ?
