Hi guys! I am just wondering if anyone has any experiences/opinions on the original DSI? What results could i expect with an Lx90 and a wedge?
Thanks,
Matthew

Matthew to be honest this is really a very basic imager. Yes you will see fine results by the likes of Jason Ware and guys who have donkeys years of experience, and observatories up mountains in remote parts of the US. Dont let this sway you. Let me put the question back to you, what do you expect from it? If you expect a top quality imager that you can build on for the future then you will be dissapointed. However if you accept it for what it is and are content with just average performance then maybe it is for you. For the price you can do better. Look at something like the ATIK16IC which has a real TEC cooler and is about the same price. I get the feeling the DSI is geared towards giving a quick fix but thats where it ends.
I'd personally steer clear if I were you but thats just my opinion. I'm sure others will agree/disagree.

I would not get one, this is a very basic level imager, if you are determined then get the DSI pro 2, although it is limited by a small CCD chip.

Guess it comes down to what your willing to pay for a camera and what you want to image. Obviously, the more you pay, the more you get. However, if memory serves me correctly, you have DSLR? If so, I'd probably stick with that. If you didn't have any camera, it'd be a very different story.
