Hi
Here is my first ever image taken with a CGE11 and a Nextimage webcam. The seeing was very poor on the night. 400 frames taken, stacked and process in Registax.

Hi John,
That it a brilliant first attempt lot's of very good detail ,tell me did you use a Barlow x2 , next time try to keep the image in the center of the laptop then you won't have to worry about the image going off screen during processing, how many frames did you capture (AVI), keep it around 1 to 2 thousand frames at 10 to 15 frames per sec, if you have any questions just ask.

Not bad at all John, you need to get your hand on a 2x and 3x barlow and pump up the magnification a bit. You're on the right track.

Thanks.
My next purchase will be a 2x barlow and 5 or 6mm eyepiece. Considering that the seeing was awful (couldn't see any features at the eyepiece), the collimation of the OTA was off, the mount was very crudely polar aligned (the image drifted across the laptop screen-hence the image at the top) and the fact that I had no absolutely idea what I was doing, I was pleased with the result.
There is hope for anyone !!

A few tips John. try collimating using the toucam, it makes it alot easier, also, do you store the scope in a warm location?, like inside your house?, its takes scopes like these a few hours to cool down, until they do, the image will always be terrible.
I wouldn't worry about tracking so long as it hold the planet somewhere in the FOV for 2 minutes or so.
