The Crescent Moon & Venus Over Maynooth

Hi all,

Although the weather was crap all day and I missed the Venus occultation it did start to clear up as the sun set so I took my camera down to the College Campus to capture the Moon & Venus with the beautiful architecture of the old college quadrangle as a foreground. That first shot is class!
I love the way you seperated the two with the spire.

You should send that into Martin King on TV3 weather,
I bet he'd use it.

Very nice images Bart and well composed. I took a look at the others you shot - they are really nice too - the infirmary shot is a keeper.

The photos also demonstrate a bit of science, he shallow angle of the Ecliptic to the Horizon at this time, when near the longest day of the year.

You can see by the way the Moon is pointing that the sun does not go far below the northern Horizon. "The land of the Midnight Twilight."
