Venus coming closer.... was created by Frank Ryan
Venus is getting bigger, lower and the crescent is more pronounced by the night.
Here is a shot from last night at around 9PM.
I've been imaging it since Feb. and you can see the changes here below to date. (I'll keep adding as long as I can before its lost in the Suns glare)
Indeed it would be hard to match Dave Lillis fantastic sequence from 2004 where it ended with the transit! - what a shot.
All taken with an ETX-125, Phillips SPC900 webcam, 2xbarlow, 2min AVIs processed in Registax.

Lovely sequence of images Frank. Really like it!
Just one small thing: there's a grey area around two of the images (2nd from left and 2nd from right) which makes it look like they are pasted into the final image. Other three look perfect though.

An excellent squence! Really illustrates how we are all orbiting the sun. Very nice and very educational.

Thanks for pointing that out.
I'll hold off on the photoshop work until I have a few more images.

A grand sequence Frank, looking forward to seeing it finished, just keep an eye on the backgrounds, they can be difficult. I didn't even try to match the backgrounds of the 2004 apparition, they were so different, also at the time I wanted to just put them together as they were, although this time I think its worth trying to match them since I have more of a clue what I'm doing., well kinda anyway.
