Lovely night last night. Nice and transparent. Seeing seemed pretty good too. So I got to give my new ATIK 16HRC (Single shot colour) a good run out.

Heres the result of 17 x 5 min subs and 10 x 5 min flats. All taken with 10" f/4 newtonian. Guiding was done with a CCD-Labs Q-Guide camera and PHD Guiding. Processing in Images Plus v2.8 and CS2.

I will do the same thing with the mono camera next chance I get. It will be interesting to see how the two compare.

Hi Dave,

Well done another fine image looking forward to seeing what you get with the monochrome camera and then combing it with the ATIK 16 HRC. Once you get that coma corrector you will be sorted.

Some great detail in the image.

Nice one Dave. I like the diffraction spikes on the star inside the bubble. It looks like its the spikes that are illuminating the bubbles upper edges.

Great image Dave, I feel jealous with all the images you are producing, nearly have the observatory finished so I might be able to get out soon (weather permitting). Great image dave :D :D :D

A nice image there Dave, makes me want to go out and buy some bubble gum
Do you have a focal reducer or field flattener, it night help towards the edges of the images.

Dave,

I like it as well. The star responsible for the bubble is quite bright and a challenge to properly expose for the complete photo.

Good stuff!
