Well lads, its funny season again as the clouds part and we all get a good look at the sky again.
It was clear here today at 15.45, so I had a go at getting Venus.

Like in Franks images, the disk is getting alot bigger while the phase size is reducing. It was so big I couldn't get the entire crescent into he field fo view of the toucam+3xbarlow, so this is with the 2x barlow + 12"LX200. I stacked about 1500 frames, the seeing was poor enough with seconds or clarity. High altitude haze every now and then didn't help either, but I guess that this would be better then nearer to the horizon.

interms of the so called ashen lights...

there isn't anything there in these over processed images, except camera noise.

I think this one at 16.45 looks a little better

The second image is a lot better, the first has a slight wobble on the bottom crescent.

thanks guys, in the first image the seeing was bad so I couldn't get a smooth crescent. Lets hope its clear again later in the week to get it again.
