Folks, here's a shot of Stephan's Quintet taken last night.

More data would have beaten down the noise a little more but my biggest problem is getting rid of the vignetting by using flats. If you thought darks were bad enough, flats are pure black magic
So, apologies for the horrible gradients and remnants of vignetting. Processing really isn't my strong point. Still, its a lot better than my last effort

Enjoy!
Cheers

Dave,
I just recently say an image of this and wondered if it was visible from here. Very nicely done. Where is it in the sky?
Know what you mean about darks, flats etc I've never actually managed to get them to fully compensate the flaws so I just try and get more data to avoid using them

Nice images Dave.
Kieran, its in NW Pegasus, just below Lacerta, so its good and high.
To visually see these you'd need at least a 12" scope and even at that the faintest of these galaxies is on this scopes very limit as the faintest of the galaxies is mag 14.
It's one on my list for the obsessionator when I get another chance, as that's scopes visual limit is about 16.5 under a good sky.
The red shift of the ngc7320 is definitely an eyebrow raiser as this galaxy doesn't look like a foreground object compared to the rest of those galaxies, its shape/size brightness are very comparable to the others indicating its at the same distance from us.

Dave, that's much better than your first effort. I've seen also some images of this quintet, and NGC 7331 is a popular target.
I'm going to be cheeky and ask would they be possible to image with a C80ED ????

Keith..

Keith - the members of the Quintet are listed at around mag 12/13. The C80 may capture them if you take long exposures. However, whether you see anything depends on the FOV. They may be far too small. Each galaxy is about 1x1 arcmins. The image posted is cropped but taken from an image of approx 21 arcmins square.

I was thinking that they would be way too small.
Keep up the good work!
