The Elephant Trunk in Narrowband - IC1396 was created by Gary Clarke
This is the result of the H-Alpha image taken on 22nd Sept 07 (which was posted on 22 sept) and SII and OIII taken on the 26th of Sept 07 with a FULL MOON at Clonee Observatory, Dublin.
H-Alpha
3x10min, 8x15min lights
2x15min Darks
15 Flats
SII
3x10min, 8x15min lights

The Filters where Astronomik, taken through a Williams ZS 80EDII, piggybacked on a CGE 11. Self guided with the SBIG ST8-KME, Darks and Flat subtracted in Images Plus, finished in CS2

Sweet! Mad colours man! Is this what it would look like 'naked eye' style Gary? I mean, ar the other, more red shots we've seen from members a result of H-alpha (mostly), hence more reds etc?

I feel like i sound like a broken record but thats as good as i've seen on these boards you guys just keeps pushing the bar. like Michael i've got to get me some filters anyway great imaging a lot of hard work has paid off defo one to frame and hang up.

Hey Seanie your right the reds are just associated with hydrogen.Most of the nebula shots are prodomontaly red because its the most abundant gas but if you want to bring out other colours then all you need is for that chemical to be present in the nebula and a filter to transmitt that wavelength ie: oxygen hence the green.
