Mia's moon was created by mia
Before yaz all start, three things I'd like to point out...

1. First image - This is a handheld single frame shot with a Fuji A210, my ETX105, moon filter and a 40mm EP

2 Second image - This is my first attempt at processing the above image using Gimp

3 I'm going to WSP. just warning yaz and your shins!!!

(and I know there's a pixel to the right but I haven't figured out yet how to get rid of it!!!!!)

Bring it on Seanie! I'm ready for ya!

The Moon certainly has had a battering from IFAS members of late! Is there any left for the rest of us at all!

Bring it on Seanie! I'm ready for ya!

I take it you don't mind my sometimes exorbitant method of critique then! :D Worthy images of any gallery Mia, especially the second image. It might be a tad too sharp. As a comparison, the first (RAW?) image is soft (nice), but lacks colour depth, and the processing has brought out that colour depth nicely, but lost the softness in the second image. But you're onto a winner there regardless.

Excellent shots for a first go!
Did you use any clamp supports for the camera or is totally
hand held?
(I always found that really hard to do)

As for bringing out the best in a shot like that,
what you need is Photoshop.

Keep em comin'!

Hi mia,

Two great images you should try Registax v4 for processing your images It would work a treat on images of the moon here is the link to download it www.astronomie.be/registax/

Plus here is the Registax Tutorial for Registax for V4 any problums let me know. :)

Mia took the image by holding the camera and pointing it through the eyepiece and after a lot of trial and error this was the shot she was happy with. Registax is down the line when she gets a clamp/adaptor.

Mia a bit more practice on Gimp and your images will be great.

Seanie looks like your shins are safe mate
