First M42 this year was created by phoenix
Had clear sky last night from about midnight onwards and had a shot at M42 LRGB 20:20:20:20mins, all 2 minute subframes.

This is another gem! Really good work.
I have a little cheat sheet for various targets around Orion for November including M42, M43, M78, NGC 2024 (Flame Nebula), NGC 1981 (great open cluster just above the Running Man Nebula), NGC 1977 (Running Man Nebula) and B33/IC434 (Horsehead Nebula).
This is another gem! Really good work.

Kieran, that's VERY impressive! Even the background sky is very dark, and the detail is quite sharp, I've seen a lot of M42's and many people over expose the core, or play around with their images with software that for me makes the whole image look artificial in some way or another.
