First Light of nexImage was created by fguihen
This is my first time to venture onto this forum with a photo taken through my scope so be harsh as you like, constructive criticism is always appriciated.
First image is Clavius. Damn Carl has a brilliant one in the forum thismorning and if i had known hed be taking it, i would not have bothered last night, theres no comparison, but im happy enough with mine, as its the first time i used the camera:
i78.photobucket.com/albums/j87/schmintan/moon2jpg.jpg
The second image, i cant remember what feature on the moon it is. I need help with this one. i know the footage to create this one was not the best, and i lowered the accepted quality in registax to 80. clouds rolled in on the end of the image so there are not too many frames either, only a few hundred. registax is putting this strange line down the middle of the image, like a crease. what is that and how can i remove it.
i78.photobucket.com/albums/j87/schmintan/moon3jpg.jpg
Thanks for looking.

Hi
Great shot you have there.
Im not a registax expert but i think this is a processessing artifact of Registax to do with the multipoint allignment. I think there is a setting somewhere which smooths out the join between two processessing zones. This maybe the option otherwise see if yoo pick a different reference frame and different allignment points if it goes away.

Hi,
Maybe select a different reference frame for aligning, I've seen lines before but not a diagonal like that. Normally a line is caused by not doing a "do all" near then end of the processing, or it can be caused by the image moving across the field of view so you get a kind of clipping by the frame edge.
Still, good images all the same, please don't be put off by others images who you think are better, if that was the case no one would take an image when all you need do is download hubble space telescope images off the web.
The point is not to produce the best image in the world, but to get an image for yourself.

Hi fguihen
A really good effort and Dave has summed it up very well with good advice. BTW, Dave L. also has an excellent tutorial on Registax processing somewhere here on the IFAS site and I highly recommend you copy and paste the info to your PC for future reference. Looking forward to more images, keep up the good work
Clear skies
