As ye know my new best friend in the whole world ever (Dave Lillis)
bought an argo navis & servo cat for his 20'' Obsession.
I think I broke land speed records the other night when he asked me did I
want to drive into Limerick to try image Mars through the new set up with him!
Sound man is Dave, the setup is awesome.
How can I go back to a 5'' ETX after seeing that monster being commanded
around by a remote control?
:D

Anyway enough brown noseing...

We decided to try out a few test images as the tracking still needs to be
tweaked and so the image in the avi was very unstable.
Still...I managed to pull out a few decent images today after
I got around to processing them

Have a look here and see what you think:

well, we're off again tonight to the clubs dark site and it looks like
it's gonna be a cracker of a night, nice n clear with good seeing right now.

Fair Due's lads! Mars looks good now with some detail! You must have been freezing last night, I know I was after out in the pub, I had my 'beer coat' on last night at 2am!
Mind you Mars naked eye was so bright!

Fantastics shot of Mars there Frank.
I had already set upp in the back garden when the text alert came in. By 8pm though it had clouded out here. I couldn't see any detail on Mars at all through the 8". It was boiling away in the smoke of many chimneys. I did manage to get a quick shot of the moon before cloud rolled in.

I managed to test drive Dave old helical focuser. It makes a big difference when focusing.
