At last 2008 has started off well with some really good clear nights here in Roscommon.
I tried out the telescope below for the first time on M1. I didn't expect to get so much detail. It just shows you when the transparency is good how the detail structures of nebulae present themselves so well.
I am very pleased with the result.

Image was taken on 4 January 2008 using the 0.9m Wynne Newt at f/4 + AP8p CCD camera.
LRGB was 6 x 30 secs each filter.
Processed MIRA PRO 7.5

OK link works NOW. Nice pic..........bit blurred.........with a bit of tweaking would be great.

You're right! It means taking alot of short images to improve the SNR. This may sharpen the detail, hence less blurriness. Thanks for your comment

Oh wow! That's a great image for just 6 x 30second shots! But then... you're cheating a little with that 35.5" monster I take it your Wynne corrector is a custom job, or did you make it yourself? With a fully illuminated and diffraction limited field of up to 1degree you should be able to turn out some great imagery!
