Andromeda Galaxy... was created by James Butler
I have been in and out the house all evening as the clouds passed over. Found a nice window and this is my first attempt at M31, 32 & 110 with a 200mm lens on my Canon 300D.
Only took the one shot as it was at zenith, my back was aching and I sat in a load of slugs. Fiddled a bit with the levels. No darks.
Nucleus and some of the spiral arms can be seen. The two elliptical galaxies can be made out too. Relatively short exposure as I just did a visual alignment on north with the naked eye.
Camera: Canon EOS300D with EF 200mm F2.8 lens
Mount: LXD75 GEM
Exposure: 120 secs
ISO: 1600
Now off to scrape slugs off my backside and early to bed as I intend getting up at 3am to have a crack at Macholz.

That's a nice image James! Especially for only a 2 min exposure.
As for clear skies, any chance you could send some my way please?
