Looks good, still undecided if the upgrades were enough to warrant a new model. 40D might slide in price a bit though.....

Pixel binning for high ISOs. A new technology enabled by the complexity and processing power of DIGIC IV where they can bin 2, 4 or 8 pixels together at the raw level and average out the noise between them. This is seen by Canon as a key technology in balancing very high resolution sensors (in the 50mp range) with low noise at very high ISOs. Right now they are not pushing this too much with the 50D so as to not create confusion in the market (they see more potential for the technology as sensors get larger and in the pro-market).

Im wondering if this ability to manually tune the lens and camera, and store settings for up to 20 lens's will allow you to tune the camera to the scope to obtain best focus possible, or is this feature just related to autofocus?

Scarry about the rapid change in technology and how quickly purchases become obsolete!
I'll say. Just grab an old issue of S&T as an example, from the early 90's and see what specs and price a decent high end CCD camera was back then...
...today they can be bought for around €40 and are called a webcam!

I think we can all agree that amateurs are getting a bigger and better bang for their buck/euro with the passage of time.
