NGC 6960 the Veil Nebula west in H Alpha was created by carlobeirnes
Hi All,

Here is an image of NGC 6960 the Veil Nebula west in H Alpha. It was quite misty witch just seemed to enhance the light pollution the sky was an orange glow. I managed to get 40x5min exposures Darks was 16x5Mins Transparency was about about 5 medium haze seeing was not bad about 6 out of 10.

Through a William Optics FLT-110 Triplet APO refractor Atik 16Hr cdd camera. Guided with a Celestron 80ED And Sac 4.2 CCD camera with PhD guiding software On a CGE mount. Processed in Images Plus V3.5 and Photoshop CS2

I plan to do a big mosaic of this area if I get the weather

Very good!
I like it a lot.
I love the viel, it reminds me of the Nexus in Star Trek!
Now I have to say again I know jack all about
deep sky imaging and I only go with a gut reaction
but from what I've seen through scopes this is a grand image.
I'd love to see a large (don't you mean massive!) mosaic as you suggest.

Your new set up seems to be payin off bigtime.

That's a beautiful image Carl. If you had perfect seeing and transparency I guess the Veil would be jumping out of the screen.

Great set up, great work, can't wait to see more.

Holy cow, Carl, that is a beautiful image!!

If that's the level of detail you are able to achieve on even a misty night, then this is an object that is crying out for a large-scale mosaic to be made of the entire region. The results would be astounding! Go for it :woohoo:

Thanks a lot for the comments folks I want to get large-scale mosaic off this area. I hope the weather plays ball It's going to take a few weeks I'm going to need 3 to 4 hours of data per session before Cygnus sinks down to low into the horizon.
